The NEXUS project is being carried out by a consortium (co-led by ARTTIC and Rolls-Royce Marine) made up of 6 recognised and experienced key players from 4 different EU member states. The consortium consists of ARTTIC, Rolls-Royce Marine AS, University of Strathclyde, GONDAN Shipbuilders, DNV GL AS, Global Marine Group and SINTEF Ocean.
GMG consists of three business units: CWind delivering power cable and asset management services topside and subsea, to the offshore renewables and utilities market; Global Marine providing fibre optic cable solutions to the telecommunications and oil & gas markets; and Global Offshore delivering trenching and cable lay services to the oil & gas industry.
GMG is specifically involved in NEXUS by providing necessary input for the requirement definition and ship design process. By taking on the role of ship owner and O&M provider, the business case will be developed from the combined perspective of a ship owner and O&M service provider. This will enable GMG to promote the vessel for prospective O&M services through the technology push strategy.
